The Challenge

Background

My fiancée and I came up with this project as a way to merge our passion for design with our love for fashion. We envisioned a brand that would function both as a design studio and a fashion label, operating under the same identity. The biggest challenge was finding a way to make these two aspects coexist seamlessly—distinct yet interconnected—so that each could thrive without overshadowing the other.

Goals

From the very beginning, this project was more than just a business idea—it was a reflection of who we are. My fiancée and I wanted to build something that blended our creative strengths, a space where design and fashion could coexist under one brand. It wasn’t just about showcasing our work individually but about finding a way to merge our styles, collaborate on projects, and bring something bold and unique into the world. The challenge was to create a brand that felt like an extension of both of us—where our shared vision could thrive, whether in design projects or in the clothing we created together.

Constraints

Balancing this project with our full-time careers was one of the biggest challenges. With limited hours in the day, time management became crucial to making our vision a reality. This brand is an ongoing journey—one that continues to evolve—but so far, time has been our only real constraint. Every step forward has required careful planning and dedication, ensuring that despite our busy schedules, we keep pushing toward something truly meaningful.

The Approach

Research

Research was the foundation of everything we built. We needed to carve out our own space—one that resonated with like-minded people while also attracting potential clients who connected with our style and skills. Competitor analysis played a crucial role; we didn’t just want to blend in, we wanted to stand out and speak to a specific audience. But beyond strategy and data, our true inspiration came from the things we love—our music, the clothing brands that influence us, and the creative energy that fuels our work.

Design Process

Our journey began with research—diving deep into the industries we wanted to be part of, understanding the landscape, and identifying where we could make our mark. With that knowledge, we moved into brainstorming, drawing inspiration from the album covers, design movements, and aesthetics that shaped us. This phase was all about exploration—pulling together ideas that felt true to our vision. From there, we started crafting the visual identity and brand guidelines, setting the foundation for everything to come. The next steps—establishing our online presence and launching the clothing line—are still in progress, but the framework is set, and the vision is clear.

Tools Used

To bring our vision to life, we embraced a mix of digital and traditional tools. Adobe Suite was our go-to for refining designs, with Figma playing a key role in structuring our ideas. But we didn’t stop at digital—traditional mediums like canvases, paper, paintbrushes, charcoal, and pencils gave us the freedom to explore textures and forms in a more organic way. This combination of tools allowed us to fully capture the essence of our brand, blending precision with artistic expression.

The Solution

Key Features

At the heart of this project is a bold, unapologetic approach to design. We wanted to make an impact—through strong typography, striking visuals, and messages that demand attention. The color palette is intentionally simple, allowing the energy of our graphics and unconventional design elements to take center stage. Our artistic backgrounds play a huge role in shaping the brand, merging fine art with modern design to create something that feels both raw and refined. This project isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about breaking conventions and injecting fresh energy into the design world.

The Outcome

Personal Takeaway

This project has been the most challenging and rewarding experience I’ve taken on so far. The personal nature of it adds a whole new layer of complexity—every decision carries weight, and every idea needs to be refined and seamlessly integrated. Balancing creative freedom with structure has been a huge learning curve, as has filtering countless ideas to ensure they align with our vision. But the biggest lesson? Letting go of imposter syndrome. In the design world, it’s easy to second-guess yourself, but this project has reinforced the importance of trusting my instincts and embracing the creative process with confidence.

Let’s make
something epic!
